Berlinale 2018 - The Happy Prince I

"THE HAPPY PRINCE", das Regiedebüt von Rupert Everett, wurde zur diesjährigen Berlinale als BERLINALE SPECIAL GALA eingeladen, wo der Regisseur und sein Team den Film persönlich vorstellen werden.

Der Film hatte seine Welturaufführung beim renommierten Sundance Filmfestival in den USA und wurde in München beim Bayerischen Filmpreis mit dem Produzentenpreis ausgezeichnet.

Rupert Everett hat nicht nur die Regie übernommen und das Drehbuch verfasst, er spielt auch die Hauptrolle, ihm zur Seite stehen Colin Firth, Colin Morgan, Emily Watson, Edwin Thomas, Tom Wilkinson, Beatrice Dalle und John Standing. Der Film bietet einen wilden und bewegenden Rückblick auf das turbulente Leben des berühmten und zu seiner Zeit als skandalös empfundenen Schriftstellers Oscar Wilde und zeigt seine Lebenslust bei ausschweifenden Partys, seine leidenschaftlichen Affären mit Männern sowie seine gleichermaßen innige Beziehung zu Frau und Kindern.
